Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment, harmony between man and nature, and a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Yoga not only provides a holistic approach to health and well-being, the wider dissemination of Yoga s benefits would also be beneficial for the health of the world s population. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his maiden speech to the United Nations while outlining the benefits of Yoga and its continued relevance in the present World exhorted the Comity of Nations to declare an International Day of Yoga. Based on India s call, United Nations General Assembly in its 69th session in the year 2014 adopted a resolution proclaiming 21 June each year as the International Day of Yoga. To commemorate the first International Day of Yoga, the Government of India created a Common Yoga Protocol (http://inbministry.blogspot.com/2015/06/international-yoga-day-common-yoga.html), which was practiced by enthusiasts all over the world including in Bangkok. The response from our friends in Thailand for the observation of the first International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2015 was overwhelming with more than 7400 people congregating at the Chulalongkorn University Grounds to practice this Common Yoga Protocol. The interest shown by Thailand motivated the Embassy of India in creating a mobile application of the Common Yoga Protocol so that it would be readily available for practitioners. This mobile application is a self help guide for users to practice some of the most common Yoga practices. Welcome to the world of Yoga. Welcome to the world of wisdom that is as relevant and beneficial today as it was thousands of years ago. This application has been developed by the Embassy of India, Bangkok in collaboration with RMC Gems Thai Co., Ltd., Bangkok. Courtesy for Contents: Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India
